Please feel free to post here about your experiences, thoughts, etc…images, links welcome.

After a 13 hour drive back, I’m finally home. Going to collapse for a while, then start work for next year…
Next year is going to be major, since my plans are for it to be the last year of the contest.
I’m going to work on the walk-throughs from all years over the space of the next couple of weeks/months. They will be posted here…
I’m considering adding a message board here to the site, any thoughts on that?
I’m going to create a separate post for teams to reply to with thoughts and reflections on this year…
And finally, it appears as though the title “Mystery Box Challenge” as been ripped off from us:
http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2009/08/mysteryboxchallenge/
At least come up with an original name
(Actually the Mystery Challenge is only nicknamed the “Mystery Box Challenge” but it is very strange to hear that in any context other than Defcon, as for the past 5 years that’s how most people refer to the contest… heck I even did a comparison piece about JJ and the relationship on LostboY.net a few months back- guess marketing people can’t come up with original ideas- guess that’s why we’re hackers and they are just hacks…..

There will be a few additions to the game play this year-
* Style points will matter- For example: Cutting a lock may be negative points, where picking may be positive points
* Time points will matter- Not simply a race, points will be awarded based on the time taken to complete different tasks
* Get to know who the other teams are, you’ll be glad you did.

I recently updated the Sponsors page. If you get a chance, drop them an email to thank them for sponsoring the LosT @ Defcon Mystery Challenge and Ryan “LosT” Clarke.
See you all soon…

There are still alternate slots open for teams considering trying to register. There *may* be a way for alternate teams to knock teams from their spots on day one of the contest this year.
Please be advised that festivities, such as Defcon 101, are happening on THURSDAY this year, one day earlier.

Registration may now only be completed by teams already in the process.
Two alternate slots are open, and one team has made mention that they may not be attending.

As of right this moment there is still one slot remaining in the contest.
Two alternates will be accepted as well.
One team has already stated that they might not show- (they fear already!)

Just for fun, or to trash talk the competition, check out #MysteryChallenge on the Undernet.

Yes, you still have time to register…now funny thing about registration. Nobody is fully registered yet. Please watch your email addys you signed up with for further instructions…

So, as most of you are aware I do quite a bit of work on this contest months and months ahead of the conference. I began work on ten-five-seven.org quite some time ago, intending to transition to it this year. I let MysteryChallenge.org go, as I did not plan to use it anymore, and I don’t like to just hold onto domains if I don’t have to-
*SOMEONE* didn’t waste any time registering MysteryChallenge.org, which I don’t mind, at all- HOWEVER, to mirror my original content (the Mystery Challenge page from last year, the black with the orange text) is LAME. It gets even worse with the addition of several spam-esque links now on the page as well.
I am in no way associated with MysteryChallenge.org any longer.
